DWW Spring Break: Bucky fights a bull!

I was just catching up on my blog reading when I saw this video on Marcus‘ site of Bucky from Down With Webster in Mexico fighting a bull!  You’re the bravest Town.

How many of you would be brave enough to get in the ring? Make sure you check out Much Music on March 18 for the DWW Spring Break Special

Ping Pong, Dancing & Kissette

I’m behind on getting some posts up and I’m gonna try and get caught up this week.

On Feb 25 I met up with blog babes Casie Stewart & Carol Zara and Sean Hawaii & new friend Sheffi for Cabbie on the Street’s Celebrity Ping Pong Tournament.  The event was  put on by the Bridle Bash Foundation to benefit Doctors Without Borders and held at Andrew Richards Designs which was a perfect venue for the event.  I would love to throw a party there sometime, hmmm….

I got tattooed earlier in the day so I missed most of the ping pong but I got there just in time to watch the winning match and see Team Bijan crush its much younger competitors.  It was a pretty intense game of Ping Pong and I had no idea that it was such a serious sport.

Team Bijan & Cabbie

After the trophy and championship belt had been presented the 5 of us went to Betty’s for some eats.  I haven’t been there since last summer and I was craving their spinach & egg salad.  We watched the end of the Russia vs Canada hockey game and then went back to the venue for the Afterparty.

Shawn, Carol, Casie & Me

We walked in and over to our area – VIP and drinking with the winners – and our booth was right next to the two hottest female DJs I’d ever seen.  They call themselves Kissette and are a sister duo.  Sister Power wins again!  They really set a great vibe for the night and we danced our asses off.

Kissette

We walked in and over to our area – VIP and drinking with the winners woo – and our booth was right next to the two hottest female DJs I’d ever seen.  They call themselves Kissette and are a sister duo.  Sister Power wins again!  They really set a great vibe for the night and we danced our asses off.

Sheffi

This is my Sheffi in his host outfit.  You can just imagine the kind of night we had :)

We danced up a storm and it was awesome our booth was up on the platform in front of the DJ’s.  There’s just something about dancing when you’re up higher then everyone else.  Shawn can really dance with a partner and it was the most fun trying to follow his lead.  I am not a partner dancer and I would love to learn how…. Who thinks I can get Chad to go to dance lessons with me?

And then a sax player came out.

Notice that the hot girls came to hang and dance with us… She was definitely the hottest girl in the party and this is how we roll.

Another group of hot girls showed up to hang with our crew and Casie knew one of them (I can’t remember her name) and a girl I know, Sandra, was there.  I love hanging with nice girls.

I was all danced out and ready to go home and I saw someone with a little chinese take-out container.  They pointed me in the direction of the food and when I got to the table I discovered a freaking macaroni buffet!  The little chinese food cartons had homemade macaroni in it and all those bowls were toppings.

I had aged cheddar, parmesan and mushrooms.  Sooooo good.  I wish this was what Kraft Dinner was like.  This was the last photo cause I ate it and then Chad braved the blizzard to come and pick me up.  (thank you!)

The party was a blast and it was so much fun to go out dancing with friends.  Apparently this is nothing compared to the Bridle Bash event they throw in the summer.  I’m looking forward to it!  Thanks to everyone involved for putting on such a fun event.

March 8 is International Women’s Day

And this year to celebrate International Women’s Day 2010 the “International Committee of the Red Cross is drawing attention to the hardship displaced women endure. The displacement of populations is one of the gravest consequences of today’s armed conflicts. It affects women in a host of ways.

Women displaced by armed conflict – often living alone with their children – are frequently exposed to sexual violence, discrimination and intimidation. Many face poverty and social exclusion as well. International humanitarian law therefore includes specific provisions protecting women, for example when they are pregnant or as mothers of young children“. (Wikipedia)

I want to say thank you to the wonderful, inspiring women in my life.  My Mom, Sister, Aunts, Mugga, my Ladies, my girlfriends and the Toronto Blog Girls.  Love you all and thank you for being the important women in my life.

Make sure you take a moment today to thank the women in your life.

My jacket was found!!!

Hi Friends,

Just wanted to let you know that Wetbar found my jacket & pink pashmina!  I guess it was a good thing to write it on my blog because it was returned to the club!  It’s great that they found it just in time for the warm weather to hit us.  Oh well, can’t complain that the sun is here.

Thank you for everyone that commented and shared your stories.

Show and Tell: Mar 5/10

Today I’m extra happy because the sun is shining.  Even though it’s still a little cold when the sun is out I can’t help but have a good day.  This week has been interesting and fun for sure.  Had a great lunch/meeting with Sean, Raymi & Casie about our Guide to Social Media Blog Seminar on March 18.  Have you got your tickets yet?  Today is the last day for the early bird price and it will close at midnight.

That’s all for this week.  It’s been a busy one for me and I’ve got to get back to the grind.  Have a great weekend everyone!
