My Tattoos
I got a comment ABOUT seeing more of my tattoos so here are the photos I have of them.
First tattoo done at Longhorn Tattoos in Oshawa by a guy named Rob. My best friend Raija and I went for our 18th (17th) birthdays to get our zodiac signs done, mine is Capricorn. We both had fake ID’s, since we were about 16 I think.

The guy that did the tattoos also took photos (fully clothed) and drew a portrait of me for his art class. Raija went back another time and saw the finished work. I never got to see it and if anyone knows him I’d love to know if he still has it.
It’s not a great photo, took with an old webcam in 2001. This was about 2 or 3 years after I got it done the first time. Byt then it had been re-coloured by Rob Smirle at his shop in Peterborough. I actually tried to Google it online to see if the old name would come up and I saw that he’s been running a shop in Kingston called Don’t Tell Mama. I’ve been dying for new work lately and I’ve been trying to figure out who I want to do it. I don’t really know any artists in Toronto and besides the very first time, I’ve never been tattooed by someone I don’t know well. I always wanted to get a piece done by Rob. I found him on FB (such a good resource sometimes) and sent a message. Maybe I’ll take a roadtrip to Kingston and get some work done…!

My lowerback was done free hand by my good friend Paul Flintoff. He was working at Ancient Expressions in Peterborough at the time, but he’s now in Ottawa at New Moon.

This next one was done by Dave Black from Peterborough. It was done in his kitchen and took about 5 or 6 hours. I’m not sure where he is now, but he was a very talented artist. This is the only tattoo that my mom likes. I just noticed while resizing this photo how faded it is. Wow. I guess its about 8 years old now and the softer lines are really faded. Boo. I guess it’s time for a touch up.

This was a Thanksgiving present from my good friend Lyall, probably in about 2005. We were at the Tenderloin for Misfits Thanksgiving, and after drinking Baileys & coffee all day, Lyall decided he should tattoo something, and I volunteered. This one hurt the most. haha.

And then there are my stars, which everyone has seen before. These are my favourites. Again done by Paul Flintoff, while he was working in Peterborough at the Surface Bar. The smaller stars are bubblegum pink, but are a little faded now too. I’m dying to get more work done and hopefully will be able to this year.
So that’s it for tattoos for now.
