Show and Tell: Nov 20/09
Show and Tell is a day late this week because yesterday I was at the Virgin Mobile Be Fearless Championship at Circa, hosted by Nicole Arbour with Sir Richard Branson and Cory Monteith from Glee. It was a Fear Factor type-event and the contestants had to dig through a tank of Maggots to find letters, be chained up, buried in snakes and have to unlock yourself, and tight-rope walk. The maggots were disgusting and Richard Branson & Cory Monteith grabbed handfuls and threw them at the crowd. Ugh. So gross.
- Bertrand Carrière’s series “Lieux Mêmes” are photographs of the landscapes from World War I, 90 years after the battle ended. The photos are eerie, beautiful and emotional. I would love to see the actual exhibit. There’s also an article about the photos here
- Vintage Life Network has a great post on How To Be A Flapper Girl. It’s interesting to see that some of the “tips” for how to be unconventional and not conform to society, are the norm for women today.
- “It has been my experience that those with no vices have very few virtues.” – Abraham Lincoln. Salon has a great article on the 7 vices of highly creative people. How many of these do you have?
- I love reading Gala Darling’s blog. Here is an inspiring post of 100 Ways to be a Love Letter to the Universe
- “The women of the Tiwi tribe in the South Pacific are married at birth”…and about 100 other random facts about the Human World. I love random facts. I was reading some of them outloud to my brother and Cam and they thought I was crazy…haha
- Do you ever wonder why you are craving certain things? I found a page on Naturopathy Works that lists food cravings, what it is your body really needs and the healthy foods to get it from. It’s very interesting and I’m printing it out and putting it on the fridge.
