Update on the situation
I went yesterday to Wetbar to get my jacket back. There was a pile of about 50-60 jackets that had not been returned to their owners on a freezing cold Saturday night. I got Casie’s red blazer, but my jacket was nowhere to be found. How did my jacket go missing from a mandatory coat check? Who would take someone else’s winter jacket home?
The manager of the club, Lisa Marie, said that it would be returned and she would call me in a couple of days to let me know.
If you took a jacket that wasn’t yours from Wetbar/Masion/Loft on Saturday night, please bring it back! Someone is very cold right now.
If they don’t have it by the end of the weekend I’m going to pursue the matter further. There’s got to be something the club can do if they make it mandatory.

I am sure that you will find that the club won’t give a shit. I would continue to advertise their shitty behaviour and encourage others to follow suit, but it probably won’t do much but assuage the growing anger that you are no doubt feeling.
Thanks for the link, my Mom said the same thing. I’m giving them til Monday, since the girl seemed so sure it would turn up, and then go from there.
Small claims is a bitch, though. The office is up in North York (Yonge and Sheppard) — might be more trouble than it is worth.
I don’t know what it is, but your jacket story struck a chord with me. My favourite leather jacket was stolen from a couch at a stupid work event at Brant House. I remember staggering around the bar too drunk to do anything but curse in impotent rage. I think I nearly cried. I’m actually misting up thinking about it now. That was a kick-ass jacket.
That sucks but it’s worth it to have a winter jacket.
That sucks about your jacket. I actually cried when I had to leave the club without mine. It really makes me mad because it was the perfect jacket for me and it was from my Mother in law and I know she spent a lot of time finding it. I really don’t understand how someone could take another person’s coat and not have a conscious about it. I didn’t take the men’s jacket they gave me because I didn’t want someone else to have to go home cold.
