“Soon the bells will start
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.”
I am so excited! Chad and I are off to do the last of our shopping and then all I need to do is bake and finish wrapping. This might be the first year that I’m not scrambling on Christmas Eve day to finish up. Fingers crossed.
Do you have left to do before Christmas?

I’ve been so wrapped up in life and work that August just slipped on by. I can’t believe that the Ex has come and gone and we’re in week 2 of September. I’ve been seriously slacking on my posts lately, but I’ve been working away on new ideas and having my agency and blog sites redesigned, so there will be some fun new stuff to check out soon…

Here's a photo of an old dog of mine as a puppy..... He was so cute and bad.
I took this week off as a working vacation. I really need a real vacation (and am hoping that someone will surprise me with an all-inclusive trip for two somewhere…hint, hint) but I don’t have anyone to take care of business while I’m away. I’m in the process of hiring an Intern for the next 2-4 months, if anyone is looking or knows of someone looking, email me. I cannot wait to have someone here to help out again.

Pinto aka Princess - Harley's old BFF
Tomorrow I am a Maid of Honor for the first time and I’m pretty excited about it. I have to say a speech and have been working on it sporadically today. I have a bunch of points jotted down so I know what I want to say, but it feels unnatural to actually write a speech out. This is such a monumental occasion I want to just say what’s in my heart. I always get a little nervous public speaking, but there won’t be many people I don’t already know, so I should be fine.

See. They even like the same treats
That’s all for today. I’ll be posting more regularly beginning next week and will have some fun projects and good news to show and tell in the coming weeks.

This past week was really busy for me. I had meetings, rudeness, house guests and best of all on Friday I got to see Rancid and Rise Against at the Molson Ampitheatre! So much fun this week, despite my Wed anxiety.
Our house guest for the next little bit is Monte, my friend Kathryn’s cat. He and Harley we not impressed with each other at first and were hissing and swatting at each other all day Tuesday but they quickly realized that they both like to play 90% of the time so they became BBF’s.

Monte’s not allowed outside at our house, just in case he runs away. They have been playing through the screen, chasing each other around the house – until all hours of the night, keeping me awake – and Harley has been sharing his toys. It’s funny that they get along so well, but I’m glad they do.

He’s been a good boy, a little nippy and he loves to sit on the kitchen table (super pet peeve of mine is animals on tables), but it’s nice for Harley to have a friend. Kathryn and I have been having lots of work dates as well. It’s nice to have the company when I’m slaving away all day.

Yes. It’s absolutely a true statement. It’s 11:30pm and for the past hour I have been trying to figure out how to get my cat out of the garage next door. I’ve rang the doorbell to both apartments numerous times and no one is answering, although every single light in the upstairs apartment is on. I’m feeling very anxious and sad because I can hear him crying and it’s making me tear up
I really have no idea what to do. I’ve tried to pick the lock, with a nail file and paperclip and also with my air miles card and I’ve tried to push open the big sliding door but it’s locked tight. There’s not even a little hole for him to squeeze out. This is the absolute worst feeling and I don’t know what to do and I’m all by myself.

I think he’s just going to have to stay in the garage all night. He has an eye infection too and needs to get his drops. I feel like the worst mother in the world right now.
And on TV right now is the freakin Sham Wow guy hawking the Slap Chop and Graty. He can’t even cheer me up and I can get not one, but two of each right now.
This is my favourite picture of Harley. I wish he was here.
Update: It’s 1:30am and Chad is home now and he called a locksmith to come. Harley is meowing non-stop and it’s such a sad meow.
Update 2: 2:00am the locksmith came, opened the door and $120 later Harley is home, had some dinner and a drink, got his medicine and is curled up ready for bed. Such a bad cat!

Harley is an excellent climber. He plays with the squirrels and they’ve taught him a thing or two about climbing. I was on the phone with my friend Julie when I looked out my back door to see Harley scrambling up the tree. He was up as far as the power lines when I went to get my camera and was a bit lower when I came back. I told him to get down, because he ripped a claw out already this summer climbing trees and it cost over $200 at the vet to get it looked at and fixed up.

This is his hiding place.

I was sewing up a storm before Chad left. We got him new pants and they needed to be hemmed. A lovely shot of my work station with a Bud Light Lime for an assistant. This is definitely my new summer drink. I love it and am telling everyone I know to drink it, which is converting a ton of people. Send me some Bud Light Lime!

Adam is fixing his phone. He threw it and pieces came off, but luckily we found them all.

Chad loves it when I tell him to look cause I’m taking a picture.

And now photos of my outfit. Chad is trying to get me to pose and I’m such a non-poser. Need to watch some ANTM and get my poses down.

This is the “don’t look at me” so I’m not. I love this shot cause Harley’s in it. I want to cut him out and put him in all my photos. He’s like the Barbie cat, you know what I mean.

And then zipped up. Oh I know, I’m a star. I totally win the posing challenge. Ha!

This is such an inexpensive outfit. I’m a bargain shopper for sure. Here’s what I’m wearing:
- T-shirt – Hail The Villain
- Hoodie – Urban Planet ($10!)
- Shorts – Urban Planet ($7!)
- Belt – Urban Planet ($3!)
- Tights – silks – free from SO
- Knee socks – Giant Tiger ($3)
- Shoes – DC
- Glasses by Jill Sanders
Chad with his newly hemmed jeans. Now here’s the “where’s the beach” pose.

And then Harley had to pose. Here he is after chasing his tail on top of the toilet seat. Holding on for dear life.

And caught.
