Zipcar

I took the plunge today and joined Zipcar.  Chad came home with a postcard advertising a new membership for only $30/year (its regularly $85) so I decided it was time to join.

I sold my car when I moved down to the city and have spent the past six years relying on TTC, walking and bugging people for rides.  It was a challenge at first, coming from a life and living situation that depended on driving to get anywhere.  I was so used to jumping in my car and going, but it was an unnecessary expense.

I don’t really need a car for day to day life but when I need to run a package downtown, go grocery shopping or somewhere that requires a car, it’ll be really helpful to just reserve one.  It is also much cheaper than actually owning a car.  Gas and insurance are included, which makes the price of $7/hr or $73/day pretty attractive, plus I’ll be able to drive around a brand new car and even a Mini like I want.  There are three locations about a 5 min walk from my house too, so it’s very convenient.  I’ve missed driving and I can’t wait to be mobile again.

Ahhhhh…Good Massage

I just came back from a massage.  I needed one desperately and haven’t had a chance to go since, well, June I guess.

I’ve been going to a friend of mine Carri, who is an RMT, and she is amazing!  Her business is called Imprint Massage and she has the nicest studio at 101 Spadina Ave.  The place is so nice and clean and relaxing.  Carri’s massage studio is a part of Imprint Pilates, and they also offer pilates (duh), acupuncture and physio.

I highly recommend you check her out, you won’t be disappointed.  You can email her at carri@imprintpilates.com or call her to book an appointment at 416-209-1315.  Check the Imprint Massage website.

Peppers and Tomatoes in my backyard

Earlier this summer I bought a tomato and red pepper plant with the hopes that I could actually grow something to eat.  The plants are both growing well and I have about 4 red peppers so far and 8 tomatoes!  I’m pretty excited about it and show everyone who comes over.  This morning I noticed that there are little white fuzzy-ish bugs on the tomato plant and had to make some homemade natural bug killer out of water and dish soap.  I hope it works cause I’ll be really sad if the plants are ruined.

I also planted some spinach, beans, carrots, basil and cucumbers in the garden and will take some pics of them this week to post.

Here are the peppers and tomatoes so far:

Lime Crime and new shoes

I just got home from a very long day…PRing, Agent-ing and then a meeting. I was having a pretty bad day until I walked in the door and saw that there were two packages waiting for me. The first one was my new sz 6 Mary Jane platform shoes by Pleaser, that I purchased on eBay for $15 incl. shipping. They are super hot and my bf loves them, even though I’m an inch taller than he is with them on.

The next package was one I had been waiting for about two weeks to receive. As soon as I turned the package over and saw the return address I let out a little scream! My Lime Crime makeup had arrived!!!

I posted earlier about Lime Crime and the girl who runs it, Xenia (or Doe Deere) and how much I love and admired her. Well her makeup did not disappoint! I bought the mini brush set, which was a bit smaller then I had anticipated, but the brushes are unbelievably soft and really nice to use. My first makeup purchase from her was the Magic Eye Dust in Dragon Scales. This makeup is very high pigment loose eye dust and it is absolutely beautiful. My new favourite shadow for sure! I opened the package and there was a nice little note inside from Xenia and my eye dust was wrapped in pink tissue paper!

So now I’m wearing my brand new heels (which are soo hot) and my brand new eye dust that was applied with my brand new makeup brushes and I am a very, very happy girl.

Will post pics soon!
