My Birthday, Jan 1, 2010

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today was my Mom’s birthday.  She picked up Mugga and came down to the beach for lunch.  We ate at the Beacher Cafe and all three of us got a Double Grilled Cheese.  It was so nice to spend time with both of them just catching up.

Happy Birthday Mom!  You’re the best and I love you a lot.

P.S.  When I was little I couldn’t say Grandma, so I called her Mugga and it stuck.  I’m the oldest cousin and all of us call her Mugga.

There's a Bouncy Castle in my backyard

Yes, there was a Lion King Bouncy Castle in my backyard all weekend.  And it was for us to jump on!

My neighbour had his 30th birthday party on Saturday at our house, and his girlfriend rented a bouncy castle from 1pm Saturday til 7pm Sunday.  They live above us and we have the backyard so we ended up having the whole party at our house.  I had the best time and it was so great to have a party at my house that was hosted by someone else.  There were about 12 of their friends and then me and Kathryn.  Alexis made the best food and had everything so prepared.  All we had to do was bring booze and carry stuff down from her place to serve it.  There were so many people that everyone just helped and the cleanup at the end was so little work.  I love parties like that.

It was 13′ x 13′ and we had to roll it into the backyard.  Chad and Alexis did the most rolling.

P8220006

Chad helped set it up.  He had to leave early for band practice.

P8220007

Monte was getting right in there to help.  Chad is hammering a stake into the ground here and the cat wouldn’t move.   Haha

P8220009

More helping.

It took about 1 minute to fill the castle up completely.  Kathryn has photos of me jumping and there’s a great video where I announce that I peed my pants and checked, but then it turns out I didn’t.  Pretty embarrassing.

Strict Rules were enforced at all times.

Here’s the start of the party bounce.

Of course the boys were roughhousing and knocking each other down.

Then we went upstairs for snacks (nachos and dip, spinach dip in a pumpernickel bowl, chips and onion dip), drinks and mini-keg stands.  Yes!  This is the birthday boy

And then back down for dinner and more bouncing.  We had burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob and homemade potato salad.  So yummy.

P8220033

And then vanilla and checkerboard butterscotch sundaes for dessert.  Soooo good.  I had the biggest food baby and I could barely move.

Happy Birthday Tim.

After sundaes Nicole, Kathryn and I got blankets and pillows and laid in the bouncy castle to digest for about an hour.  We almost fell asleep.  Then we went in and watched Twilight (my second time).  I get why people are freaking out over the Edward Culling character.  I was completely in love with him by the end.  He is really hot and very charming.  I haven’t had a movie star crush on someone in a while but Robert Pattison is worthy.

Birthday Party at Scotland Yard

I’m really late posting this one.
Last Wednesday we went to Scotland Yard to celebrate the birth of Paul Gourlie.  For those of you who don’t know him, he is DWW and HTV’s agent.
When we walked in the birthday boy was already pretty happy.  There was tons of food, a tray full of candy and cupcakes and $5 pints.

You can see the sugar rush tray below.  And that’s the birthday boy’s wife and friends.

We TTC’d down with Kap and Diggy so Chad could have some drinks.  Here he is after a shot of JD.  You can tell I’m starting to feel it cause my cheeks are flushed.

That’s Victor from Warner with Kap and Diggy.  They were having serious conversations as you can tell.

Another shot of Chad and I.  I’m going a little camera happy for photos of us cause he leaves on tour this week.

Earthday Birthday

April 22 is Earthday and my little sister’s Birthday. We went for din din at Hernando’s Hideaway, which is the same place we had birthday dinner last year.

Chad and I showed up right on time. We should’ve known that we’d be the first ones there.

Needless to say we were a bit bored, so I thought I would take funny face photos. Squish in.

Chad is not as good as I am.

Squish out.

And then a nice-y one. Except I have my hair in my face.

The birthday girl showed up with red hair. I told the waitress to look for the blondest girl in the group so she could give her the birthday dessert. Uh oh.

Kristin and her bf Drew – also in the same band as Chad. He’s the drummer. I know it’s weird, we didn’t plan to date boys in the same band and have never dated anyone even remotely connected before.

Sam and Ally are roomate dating for this particular social event. We were making up different terms for roomate dating and it’s between rating or mating.
p.s. they’re not really dating at all.

Kathryn showed up after her meetings for a surprise.

Mom and Dad. Look how happy they are. Married almost 30 years.

I keep forgetting to take a picture of my meal when it comes. I had a veggie burrito dinner and it looked and tasted awesome. But I was too hungry and demolished my plate before I remembered.

It was a fun birthday. Sam gave Kristin a great card. Woo Birthday!
