Here’s the trailer to get you excited.

You Might As Well Live

Some really exciting news to share with you all.  You might have seen the posters around the city asking if Robert Mutt is a douchebag…..

You Might As Well Live* is the story of Robert Mutt (played by Josh Peace), a so-called douchebag, trying to prove he’s a real somebody.  And, on the advice of his childhood hero (former local baseball legend Clinton Manitoba), he sets out to attain the three keys to success – some money, a girl, and a championship ring.   After a madcap adventure involving a drug racket, a roller-skating transvestite, a bar-mitzvah starring pop-star Stormy Blaze, and an air hockey tournament Robert finally meets the girl of his dreams.

Kristin Fairlie is Stormy Blaze, the underground pop sensation (in her own mind) and sister to Robert Mutt.  Stormy is furious when her loser brother comes home from the mental institution and brings bad press to her home and burgeoning career.  But, thanks to Robert, she gets her big break performing her debut single “This is the Beginning of Forever”.

The film will screen at three theatres in Toronto, and it has a limited release, so make sure you check it out!

This past January YMAWL screened at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.  Slamdance runs in conjunction with the Sundance Film Festiaval.  They are both on at the same time, in the same city, and sometimes in the same venues.  Kristin and I went out to support it and of course check out Sundance.  Kristin had talked to the Producers on the film and we got to go out and stay in the chalet with them and go to all the parties.  It was so much fun!

Me & Kristin

Kristin & I with our Rubber Duck boots

We had the best time, went to awesome parties with the guys and got to go to almost all of the swag spots.  I honestly couldn’t believe how awesome these places are.  You literally go in a room and they give you a bag and you walk around and people trying to entice you into taking their stuff, for free.  I know!  So hard not to just take everything.  It was mostly for Kristin, because she were promoting her film and I was helping with the Publicity and building contacts for myself.  But she grabbed some cool things for me and alot of the people just gave me stuff anyway.

Best part ever was going to a room and having to wait because someone important was in the room already.  And it was SLASH!  I almost died and we didn’t get a chance to talk to him, but I smiled in his direction.  He probably saw and thought I was the coolest girl he’d ever seen.

Slash Gibson Guitars

Slash Gibson Guitars

Slash was my first rock star crush.  I was a big Guns N’ Roses fan and loved listening to his guitar solos.  So amazing.  He also does a wicked solo in Dirty Diana, one of my favourite Michael Jackson songs.  In Gr. 5/6 I wore a Use Your Illusion t-shirt every day.  My mom tried to give it away in hand me down piles forever.  One day it got lost and I’ve always wanted another one.

Legally Blonde II

I’m trying to get caught up from my ridiculous week and Kathryn and I are sitting here working and watching Legally Blonde II.  Such a funny movie.  Here is Darryl and Victor’s best pic ever, from the HTV show at the Opera House.

My weekend was spent with Remo Williams

This weekend I decided to skip out on everything and just hang out with my cat at home.  It was a much needed break from the crazy events of my life.

I had to go back to the vet on Saturday because Harley has an eye infection and it looked way worse.  It is so freakin’ expensive to go to the vet.  $65 just for the visit and then the gave me more drops for another $10.  He’s worth it, but I keep telling him he needs to get a job and start helping out around the house more.  ha.  Yes, I actually talk to my cat.

Anyway after the vet I made him a sickbed on the couch with his favourite blanket and we watched movies for the rest of the day.

First film was “Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins”.  This is one of the cheeziest action hero movies I’ve ever seen.  I’ve watched it a couple times and it’s always good for a laugh.  Here’s the Wikipedia summary:

Samuel Edward “Sam” Makin (played by Fred Ward) is a tough street cop recruited as a secret agent through a bizarre method: his death is faked so that there will be no questions asked as to his disappearance. Rechristened “Remo Williams” (after the name and location of the manufacturer of the bedpan in Makin’s hospital room), his face is surgically altered and he is trained to be a human killing machine by his aged Korean martial arts master Chiun (played by Grey in heavy makeup). Though Remo’s training is extremely rushed by Chiun’s standards, Remo learns such skills as dodging bullets and running (not walking) on water. The Chiun character, who is stereotypically nationalistic, racist and sexist, is both the comic relief and wise mentor figure in the film. Chiun and Remo practice a fictional form of Korean martial arts named Sinanju. Remo is sent to investigate a corrupt weapons procurement program within the US Army.

And here’s a little treat.  When searching for a still from the film I found a clip of him dodging a bullet.  He’s really fast…

Watching such an epic physical and spiritual journey of a man made me hungry.  So I created the best breakfast burrito for dinner that I’ve ever had, heard of, or seen before.

I know, it looks amazing and you want to make one yourself.  Here’s what I did:

Poached two eggs from the old box.  Realized that they expired at the beginning of June and threw them out.

Cracked open two more eggs, from the brand new box, de-fetused them and scrambled them in a pan with mushrooms, red onions, yellow, orange and red peppers, some chicken spice, salt and pepper.

Cut up tomato, avocado and grated cheese and put on white flour tortilla.  Add the scrambler mix, a little sour cream and white corn salsa.

Eat it!  Yummm… so good.  I’m hungry now just thinking about it.

After this masterpiece of a meal I had a nap.  I woke up around 10pm and talked to Chad a bit and played around on the internet.  Then I decided to watch another movie and another epic film was on TV – Flashdance!

Flashdance’s soundtrack has been one of my all time favourites since I was a little kid.  I found the tape in my dad’s stash one day and fell in love with it.  I can remember doing airbands with the neighbourhood kids to “What a Feeling” at our parent’s pool parties.

This was my first time ever watching the film from start to finish and I have to say I loved it.  Jennifer Beals has such a hot body in this movie and it got me even more motivated to work out.  Here’s a clip of the “Maniac” dance.  This is what I want my legs and butt to look like.  Actually I would like my whole body to look this toned and fit.  And it made me want to start dancing again after 15 years.  Maybe I will.

That’s it for this post.  Over and out.  I’ll try and do more exciting things this week.  Oh and I will start with my personal trainer on Wednesday night so I’ll update on that Thursday.
