Ping Pong, Dancing & Kissette

I’m behind on getting some posts up and I’m gonna try and get caught up this week.

On Feb 25 I met up with blog babes Casie Stewart & Carol Zara and Sean Hawaii & new friend Sheffi for Cabbie on the Street’s Celebrity Ping Pong Tournament.  The event was  put on by the Bridle Bash Foundation to benefit Doctors Without Borders and held at Andrew Richards Designs which was a perfect venue for the event.  I would love to throw a party there sometime, hmmm….

I got tattooed earlier in the day so I missed most of the ping pong but I got there just in time to watch the winning match and see Team Bijan crush its much younger competitors.  It was a pretty intense game of Ping Pong and I had no idea that it was such a serious sport.

Team Bijan & Cabbie

After the trophy and championship belt had been presented the 5 of us went to Betty’s for some eats.  I haven’t been there since last summer and I was craving their spinach & egg salad.  We watched the end of the Russia vs Canada hockey game and then went back to the venue for the Afterparty.

Shawn, Carol, Casie & Me

We walked in and over to our area – VIP and drinking with the winners – and our booth was right next to the two hottest female DJs I’d ever seen.  They call themselves Kissette and are a sister duo.  Sister Power wins again!  They really set a great vibe for the night and we danced our asses off.

Kissette

We walked in and over to our area – VIP and drinking with the winners woo – and our booth was right next to the two hottest female DJs I’d ever seen.  They call themselves Kissette and are a sister duo.  Sister Power wins again!  They really set a great vibe for the night and we danced our asses off.

Sheffi

This is my Sheffi in his host outfit.  You can just imagine the kind of night we had :)

We danced up a storm and it was awesome our booth was up on the platform in front of the DJ’s.  There’s just something about dancing when you’re up higher then everyone else.  Shawn can really dance with a partner and it was the most fun trying to follow his lead.  I am not a partner dancer and I would love to learn how…. Who thinks I can get Chad to go to dance lessons with me?

And then a sax player came out.

Notice that the hot girls came to hang and dance with us… She was definitely the hottest girl in the party and this is how we roll.

Another group of hot girls showed up to hang with our crew and Casie knew one of them (I can’t remember her name) and a girl I know, Sandra, was there.  I love hanging with nice girls.

I was all danced out and ready to go home and I saw someone with a little chinese take-out container.  They pointed me in the direction of the food and when I got to the table I discovered a freaking macaroni buffet!  The little chinese food cartons had homemade macaroni in it and all those bowls were toppings.

I had aged cheddar, parmesan and mushrooms.  Sooooo good.  I wish this was what Kraft Dinner was like.  This was the last photo cause I ate it and then Chad braved the blizzard to come and pick me up.  (thank you!)

The party was a blast and it was so much fun to go out dancing with friends.  Apparently this is nothing compared to the Bridle Bash event they throw in the summer.  I’m looking forward to it!  Thanks to everyone involved for putting on such a fun event.

HaiHaiTO Fundraiser

On Thursday Feb. 11 I went to the #haihaiTO Haiti Fundraiser  at The Courthouse (thanks Sean!).  It was a really fun night and I met some cool new people and lots of Tweeps IRL.  It was kind of surreal to be in a room where I recognized people from following them and everyone was so happy and friendly.  I smiled and said hi all night long.  I was also surprised at how many people knew who I was from Twitter.  I guess pink hair does stand out.  I bumped into Breanna at coat check (yes, I checked my coat it) and she is one of my new favourite people.  Her sister came with her and she was super nice too.  I’m pretty bad with names the first time I meet people and I completely forgot hers.  They used ’sister power’ to win a yellow Flip camera.  I should’ve brought my sister along, cause nothing beats sisters :)

One of these was a winner!

Everyone was in a party mood and the dance floor was the place to be.  The DJ was spinning 90’s hip hop and Top 40 tunes and it felt like high school dances, but way cooler and without having to sneak the alcohol.  I haven’t been out dancing in a long time and the whole night was such fun.

Every photo I have of Sheldon his eyes are closed.

Where did this mask come from?

Best dressed of the night.

You can see we left the event with our jackets, purses and Breanna with her prize!  I want a Flip so bad and a yellow one will make my day.  We’re gonna have to make a video together with your new one :)

I had a great night and it was fun to meet so many awesome new people.  I can’t wait for the next meetup.

A Blog Party and National Fearless Day

Last night my sister and I went to Keri’s blog party and it was a really fun time.  She showed clips of the last season of The Canadian Explorer and is so cute and charismatic on  screen.  It was great to meet her in person and I love what she’s doing with her blog.  Casie was there with her friends, Rochelle and Shaun Hawaii, and we all went and had food and beer at the Firkin.  I got home and to bed by 11pm, which was perfect.
